Our client is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Contractor for a 12 month project to support site-level safety, environmental compliance, and occupational health initiatives. This role will partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while fostering a strong safety culture across laboratory and operational environments.
The EHS Contractor will play a key role in supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs in a regulated life sciences setting.
This is a 12 month hybrid-work project that can be done 90% remotely.
Key Responsibilities Environmental Health & Safety Compliance- Support implementation and maintenance of EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations
- Assist in maintaining regulatory documentation, permits, and reporting requirements
- Conduct routine inspections of laboratory, production, and support areas to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Perform hazard assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk evaluations for lab and operational activities
- Support development and implementation of control measures to mitigate identified risks
- Assist in chemical safety, biosafety, and hazardous waste management programs
- Participate in incident/accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
- Maintain incident logs and ensure timely reporting of safety events
- Assist in delivering EHS training (e.g., lab safety, hazard communication, PPE, emergency response)
- Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging employees and reinforcing safe behaviors
- Support onboarding safety training for new employees and contractors
- Assist with hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, and disposal in compliance with regulations
- Monitor environmental compliance programs (e.g., air, water, waste)
- Coordinate with waste vendors and maintain manifests and records
- Support internal audits and external inspections (regulatory or client-based)
- Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure
- Identify opportunities to improve EHS processes and drive best practices
