Our client is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Contractor for a 12 month project to support site-level safety, environmental compliance, and occupational health initiatives. This role will partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while fostering a strong safety culture across laboratory and operational environments.

The EHS Contractor will play a key role in supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs in a regulated life sciences setting.

This is a 12 month hybrid-work project that can be done 90% remotely.

Key Responsibilities Environmental Health & Safety Compliance
  • Support implementation and maintenance of EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations
  • Assist in maintaining regulatory documentation, permits, and reporting requirements
  • Conduct routine inspections of laboratory, production, and support areas to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
Risk Management & Safety Programs
  • Perform hazard assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk evaluations for lab and operational activities
  • Support development and implementation of control measures to mitigate identified risks
  • Assist in chemical safety, biosafety, and hazardous waste management programs
Incident Management
  • Participate in incident/accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
  • Maintain incident logs and ensure timely reporting of safety events
Training & Culture
  • Assist in delivering EHS training (e.g., lab safety, hazard communication, PPE, emergency response)
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging employees and reinforcing safe behaviors
  • Support onboarding safety training for new employees and contractors
Environmental & Waste Management
  • Assist with hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, and disposal in compliance with regulations
  • Monitor environmental compliance programs (e.g., air, water, waste)
  • Coordinate with waste vendors and maintain manifests and records
Audits & Continuous Improvement
  • Support internal audits and external inspections (regulatory or client-based)
  • Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure
  • Identify opportunities to improve EHS processes and drive best practices
