Overview
PREP Research Associate
This position is part of the National Institute of Standards (NIST) Professional Research Experience (PREP) program. NIST recognizes that its research staff may wish to collaborate with researchers at academic institutions on specific projects of mutual interest, thus requires that such institutions must be the recipient of a PREP award. The PREP program requires staff from a wide range of backgrounds to work on scientific research in many areas.
Employees in this position will perform technical work that underpins the scientific research of the collaboration.
Research
Title:
Data science and AI expertise and student advising. The work will entail advising the research associates working on the various projects related to Public data repository. The work includes advising, monitoring and managing the work for AI enabled PDR, automation of digital assets collection and dynamic visualization of the tabular data in PDR. Researcher will use its expertise in multidisciplinary science projects specifically computer and data science.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Advise associates on various technologies
- Provide expertise in data science specifically AI and machine learning
- Guide and monitor the work regularly
- Meet with NIST staff and engage in discussions
- A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in cross domain projects for data science
- Worked on large scale data management and analysis
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Salary and RewardsSalary Range The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
