Overview
Infinity Bio, Inc. is a Baltimore, MD biotechnology startup developing a novel proteomics platform for antibody reactome profiling called MIPSA ( Molecular Indexing of Proteins by Self-Assembly). Antibody reactome profiling identifies antibodies in a biological sample that are reactive against peptides and proteins of interest. MIPSA leverages massive DNA-barcoded peptide and protein libraries (500k+ members) to comprehensively detect such antibodies using NGS readout.
This technology encompasses the entire omic workflow from front-end sample preparation to multiplex assays, NGS library preparation, and informatics. We are looking for intellectually curious, dedicated, and creative people to join our team. As in any startup environment, candidates who are flexible enough to fill many roles can be expected to grow quickly within the company and play a large part in shaping its future.
Today, you may be working at the lab bench while tomorrow, you may be writing a patent, and the day after, you may be analyzing data.
The applicant s primary responsibility will be to drive the development of MIPSA and the advancement of its adoption. This could include the design of new MIPSA libraries and the expansion of MIPSA into new applications as well as the development of entirely new methodologies. The ideal candidate would spend significant time at the bench while also being expected to perform rigorous experimental design and in-depth data analysis.
They would also welcome broad exposure to all aspects of bringing new proteomics technology to market.
- Design and development of MIPSA assay
- Analysis and troubleshooting of MIPSA assay to identify areas for improvement
- Characterization and validation of MIPSA performance across sample types and applications
- Design and optimization of manufacturing processes for MIPSA reagents
- Supporting commercial services, pilot projects, and KOL collaborations
- Significant experience in molecular assay development, NGS tools, and omics technologies
- Significant experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, transcription, reverse transcription, and translation, particularly as applied to omics tool development
- Significant experience analyzing NGS data particularly with respect to omics tool development. Expertise with Python or R, NGS data pipelines, biostatistics, gene expression analysis, large datasets, etc is needed.
- Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing, leading, and performing independent research
- Experience with analytical methods including UV and fluorescence spectroscopy, capillary and gel electrophoresis, HPLC, and MS are a plus.
- Experience processing human sample types is a plus but not required
- Experience in immunology, especially serological assays, is a plus but not required
- Experience with laboratory automation equipment is a plus but not required
- Applicants don t need to have all the desired skills but should demonstrate eagerness and ability to learn new techniques as necessary
- Anything else to help the company grow and expand!
