Clinical Research, Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
The Pathology Department is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Specialist who will oversee and conduct a variety of complex tests and lead the development of new assays and techniques. The Clinical Laboratory Specialist will work with Pathologists and others to perform tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities- Perform assay development.
- Apply subject matter expertise and knowledge to execute tests and analyze results.
- Teach learners assigned to the lab, e.g. residents and clinical research fellows.
- Lead and/or participate in laboratory projects.
- Exercise independence in reviewing, understanding, and applying information found in literature in consultation with pathologists.
- Collaborate with technologists performing newly developed tests clinically.
- May contribute to presentations at national conferences and publications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
- Five years' experience in a comparable laboratory performing relevant techniques.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalency, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
