Research Assistant/Associate, Research Scientist -

The Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Sr. Research Assistant
. The Sr. Research Assistant works under the general direction of a faculty researcher or senior research staff and independently conducts a variety of operational and technical activities key to the conduct of and direction of the research. This role will work closely with Dr. Yeeli Mui, contributing to research initiatives and supporting the Bloomberg American Health Initiative (BAHI) Human Nutrition Center Grant.
Develop data collection tools based on understanding of underlying study design.
Participate in developing standard operating procedures for one or more studies.
Design and set up standard operating procedures.
Oversee data collection.
Analyze data under general oversight and make data-driven recommendations.
Oversee day-to-day activities and provide training for new staff on study.
Conduct literature searches to pull background material and identify information relevant and applicable to research interest.
Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
Support grant proposal development, including drafting concept notes, technical narratives, and budgets.
Contribute to writing reports, manuscripts, and presentations for diverse audiences.
Provide operational and research support for the BAHI Human Nutrition Center grant.
Prepare IRB submissions, manage compliance documentation, and maintain accurate research reporting.
Bachelor's Segree in a related field.
Two years of related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education permitted by the JHU equivalency formula beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Master’s or advanced Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, or related field.
Prior experience with research data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Knowledge of food systems planning, food policy, policy analysis, health equity, social/ structural determinants of health, systems science, or systems thinking.
Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including community organizations, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners.
Experience with IRB processes or online course platforms.
