Sr. Research Assistant – Pittsburgh, PA (Health Policy & Management – IHSP)
Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Senior Research Assistant who will work under the general direction of a faculty researcher or senior research staff and independently conduct a variety of operational and technical activities key to the conduct of and direction of the research.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities- Develop data collection tools based on an understanding of underlying study design.
- Participate in developing standard operating procedures for studies.
- Design and set up standard operating procedures.
- Oversee data collection.
- Analyze data under general oversight and make data‑driven recommendations.
- Oversee day‑to‑day activities and provide training for new staff on the study.
- Conduct literature searches to identify background material and information relevant to research interests.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist with tasks on the MOVED Study, a project testing the impact of housing mobility on adult and child health.
- Independently schedule appointments and make reminder/confirmation calls.
- Complete phone and in‑person survey interviews with one adult and one child in the family home.
- Collect measures of participants’ height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, and conduct a finger stick for diabetes at the participants’ home.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Two years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high‑school diploma or equivalent, up to the limits of the JHU equivalency formula.
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Previous experience working within a research setting, preferably with field experience or participant recruitment.
- Experience engaging participants from diverse backgrounds.
- An interest in and experience with housing, neighborhood factors, and/or food policy.
