Sr. Research Assistant – Pittsburgh, PA (Health Policy & Management – IHSP)

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Senior Research Assistant who will work under the general direction of a faculty researcher or senior research staff and independently conduct a variety of operational and technical activities key to the conduct of and direction of the research.

• Develop data collection tools based on an understanding of underlying study design.
• Participate in developing standard operating procedures for studies.
• Design and set up standard operating procedures.
• Oversee data collection.
• Analyze data under general oversight and make data‑driven recommendations.
• Oversee day‑to‑day activities and provide training for new staff on the study.
• Conduct literature searches to identify background material and information relevant to research interests.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Assist with tasks on the MOVED Study, a project testing the impact of housing mobility on adult and child health.
• Independently schedule appointments and make reminder/confirmation calls.
• Complete phone and in‑person survey interviews with one adult and one child in the family home.
• Collect measures of participants’ height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, and conduct a finger stick for diabetes at the participants’ home.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Two years of related experience.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high‑school diploma or equivalent, up to the limits of the JHU equivalency formula.

• Master’s Degree in a related field.
• Previous experience working within a research setting, preferably with field experience or participant recruitment.
• Experience engaging participants from diverse backgrounds.
• An interest in and experience with housing, neighborhood factors, and/or food policy.
