This person will be a critical member of a fast-paced international team of researchers, administrative staff, study coordinators, and data analysts. The Sr. RPC will be the go-to person for the Principal Investigators for scientific, administrative, and financial coordination with the larger team. The primary work location is Baltimore, MD, with anticipation of regular travel to India.
The Sr. Research Project Coordinator oversees the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and makes independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation,
communications, and data systems.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist the Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of the proposed protocol/study design.
* Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on an understanding of the underlying study design.
* Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g., participant interviews, administer questionnaires; background research, laboratory processing, etc.
* Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations.
* Participate in developing the study budget.
* Set up a data collection system and ensure the validity of study data.
* Organize and quality control study data.
* Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.
* Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
* Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter.
* Perform other related duties as requested.
In addition to these duties, the Sr. Research Project Coordinator will
* Collaborate with Co-investigators and partner institutions in both the United States and India.
* Build and maintain relationships across study teams and cultural backgrounds.
* Support Studies from inception and grant writing to close-out, final analysis, and publication.
Project Management
* Proactively manage and communicate regarding study progress with the Pl and collaborators.
* Assist with grant preparation:
Managing documents, writing components of grants, assisting with budgets and budget justifications, and literature searches.
* Study design and data collection:
Coordinating and contributing to study protocol development.
* Overseeing data tool development. Assists in the preparation of all documents related to the informed consent process.
* Managing regulatory submissions (e.g., IRB, clinical trials.gov) and keeping regulatory approvals up to date.
* Assists in the submission of interim reporting and closeout documents to applicable federal agencies, university entities, and the sponsoring agency.
* Coordinates meetings and other communication between international partners and JHU investigators, including agenda preparation and distribution of meeting minutes.
* Use project management software for project coordination and Pl dashboard development.
Data Management
* Monitors data quality and develops data queries in collaboration with in-country partners.
* Prepares quantitative data for analysis, including data cleaning.
* Participate in coding and analysis of in-depth interviews for qualitative components of studies.
* Work closely with data analysts for coordination, when applicable.
Analysis & dissemination
* Conducts statistical analysis of collected data (e.g., multivariable regression).
* Present results at scientific conferences and other national and international venues.
* Contribute to the writing of manuscripts.
* Prepare updates for study site partners, including health facilities and TB program leadership.
* Prepare other dissemination products as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
* Three years of related experience.
* Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
