PREP Research Associate
CHIPS Funded Project.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) invites a research associate to support collaborations with academic institutions on scientific projects. Individuals in this position will conduct technical work across various scientific fields and support the development of traceable standards for 5G, 6G, and beyond.

0004207 - 672.01 - On-wafer complex permittivity measurements of materials
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement to capture industry needs and provide regular updates.
- Design, simulate, and assemble on-wafer electronics for mmWave test and measurement.
- Design, simulate, and assemble resonator methods for mmWave test and measurement.
- Integrate measurement systems and perform data measurements and analysis.
- Collaborate with NIST researchers to develop and execute on-wafer metrology.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Materials Science Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience with microelectronic fabrication.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and Python programming.
- Experience with finite element simulations in ANSYS or COMSOL.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship preferred.
