Overview
Position title:
PREP Post-Masters Researcher (US Citizen). This role is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Professional Research Experience (PREP) program, which facilitates collaboration between NIST research staff and academic institutions. The researcher will work in the Applied Economics Office (AEO) within the Engineering Laboratory (EL), providing economic analysis and support for projects ranging from energy conservation to community resilience.
- Analyze data relevant to research projects.
- Review relevant literature and synthesize findings.
- Assist in designing data collection instruments.
- Write reports and research articles for internal and external audiences.
- Assist in publishing research in refereed journals and technical research series.
- Communicate research findings at professional conferences.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Master’s degree in economics, social science, psychology, policy, or a related field.
- Background in econometrics or statistics and experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Applied microeconomics
- Decision science or behavioral science
- Environmental economics or environmental studies
- Geography
- Non‑market valuation
- Policy
- Psychology
- Regional studies or regional economics
- Risk and uncertainty
- Social science or sociology
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Logical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
- Patience and attention to detail.
Salary Range:
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, and education/training.
