Position: Postbaccalaureate Fellow Position in Epidemiology Baltimore – Biomedical Research Center (BRC)

The Immunoepidemiology Unit within the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Population Sciences at the National Institute on Aging is seeking a postbaccalaureate fellow with an interest in epidemiology, aging, immune-related diseases, environmental health, and population-based biomedical research. The position is expected to be a one-year fellowship, with the possibility of extension depending on funding availability, performance, and programmatic needs. This fellowship is under the mentorship of Minkyo Song, M.D., Ph.D.

The fellow will contribute to epidemiologic studies focused on immune dysregulation, autoimmunity, aging, and environmental risk factors. Research activities may include literature review, data cleaning and management, statistical analysis, preparation of tables and figures, interpretation of epidemiologic and biomarker data, and support for scientific abstracts and manuscripts.

The position will provide training in population-based epidemiology, autoimmune disease epidemiology, environmental health research, statistical programming, biomarker interpretation, and scientific writing. The fellow will work as part of a collaborative research group and may have opportunities to interact with investigators and trainees across NIH.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, biology, environmental health, data science, or a related field is required. Applicants should have strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and an interest in population-based biomedical research.

Preferred qualifications include experience with statistical programming in R, SAS, Python, or Stata; coursework or experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, immunology, or autoimmune disease; and experience working with large datasets. Experience with GIS, geospatial analysis, weather or climate data, environmental exposure data, biomarker data, or cohort studies is a plus but not required.
