The School of Medicine at University of Maryland, Baltimore has an exciting opportunity for a Research Project Coordinator in the Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine division to join a fun and productive team. The incumbent will become a valued member of a collaborative sleep research team performing tasks for a clinical research study among adults with sleep disorders. They will strengthen clinical research skills and be encouraged to contribute to publications and presentations.

Primary Duties
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day operations of research studies, including data maintenance, grant expenditure adherence, project evaluation, meeting scheduling, and research subject interfacing. Serve as point of contact for participants, staff, and support personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, study protocols, and applicable regulations, exercising discretion to solve non‑routine issues in collaboration with managers and team members.
  • Recruit and screen volunteers, develop recruitment streams, and obtain informed consent and enrollment.
  • Lead data collection and management by creating instruments, establishing databases, performing quality checks, and improving processes for data efficiency. Mentor data entry staff and perform non‑routine data analysis as needed.
  • Develop and deliver reports of study data to staff and stakeholders, analyze data, and recommend actions. Summarize protocol deviations and IRB communications. Contribute to publications and grant applications.
  • Monitor compliance with protocols and regulatory policies; assist in budget development, expenditure adherence, and inventory maintenance for equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, emergency services, chemistry, biology, public health, psychology, or another applicable social science or scientific discipline.

Experience

One to two years of clinical research experience preferred.

Other

Additional related experience and formal education may substitute for mandatory requirements on a year‑for‑year basis with 30 undergraduate credits equating to one year of experience. Directly related education or experience may substitute for specific qualifications.

Hiring Range

$49,100 – $52,000, commensurate with education and experience.
