Axle is seeking a Scientific Linux Researcher to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) located in Baltimore, MD.

The purpose of this position is to support several Linux computers in our research facility and to perform data analysis.

• Perform troubleshooting of Linux-based computer equipment; document actions required to resolve problems and initiate corrective action as needed.
• Perform Linux administration and data analysis.
• Maintain and operate Linux-based laboratory computers.
• Optimize research using high-performance computing resources and software solutions.
• Perform experiments as listed in analysis plans and in support of research programs and projects.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of laboratory work in defined notebooks and convert those records to electronic records as appropriate.
• Conduct data storage, record keeping, retrieval, and entry using multiple IT systems.
• Operate a variety of laboratory equipment and perform quality control, upkeep, and routine maintenance.
• Order and maintain laboratory supplies, including chemicals, biological materials, liquid nitrogen, etc., and prepare purchase requests for new or replacement computer equipment.
• Attend and present data at laboratory meetings and one national scientific meeting.
• Develop strategies with supervisor and other laboratory personnel to plan subsequent experiments.
• Collaborate with staff on planning and executing plans for the development and use of new computing tools.
• Interact with scientists from other organizations or institutions involved in similar or related research projects.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $102,000 USD
