Primary Duties
- Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of research studies in the department such as data maintenance, grant expenditure adherence, project evaluation, meeting scheduling, and research subject interfacing. Adheres to good clinical practices, study protocols, and applicable regulations.
- Independently coordinates and communicates directly with the Principle Investigator, study participants, and sponsors to manage the operation and evaluation activities of the research studies. Responsible for ensuring optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications. Uses evaluation techniques, originality, and ingenuity to resolve non routine issues.
- Serves as a point of contact for study participants, research personnel and support staff. Adheres to good clinical practices, study protocols, and applicable regulations.
- Screens subjects for research studies by reviewing and obtaining source documents for potential participants. Develops recruitment streams and advises participants of study objective, requirements, risks, benefits and obtains their consent and enrollment.
- Collects baseline and follow-up data from subjects including verification of eligibility.
- Obtains demographic information. May assess for adverse events, obtain concomitant medications, and interview subjects for follow-up.
- Makes recommendations concerning time‑saving methods in data collection.
- Codes adverse events in accordance with National Cancer Institute (NCI) common toxicity criteria.
- Checks validity and accuracy of data ensuring compliance with quality control requirements.
- Generates standard computer reports on patient demographics, and other pertinent data as requested. Prepares reports on specific patient populations for investigators requesting data for research papers.
- Monitors activities to ensure compliance with protocols and all relevant local, federal, and state regulatory and institutional policies. Assists in budget development, expenditure adherence, and maintenance of inventory on equipment and supplies.
- Determines reliability of data sources by evaluating information, determining errors and notifying responsible parties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in nursing, emergency services, chemistry, biology, public health, psychology or another scientific discipline appropriate to position required.
ExperiencePrior experience in research, e.g., clinical research setting preferred.

$48,000 - $53,000, commensurate with education and experience.
