Duties and Responsibilities

University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Biostatistics and Medical Data Science Laboratory led by Dr. Shuo Chen.

  • Developing novel AI/ML methods to improve the accuracy, reliability, and validity of downstream statistical inference with AI/ML derived outcomes.
  • Developing and implementing computationally intensive algorithms using high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.
  • Managing and analyzing multiple large-scale datasets, including UK Biobank (UKBB), HCP, ABCD, ENIGMA, as well as data from local clinical trials and observational studies (e.g., UMMS EHR data).
  • Clinical trial design and analysis using advanced statistical methods.
  • Imaging, genetics, and omics data analysis and method development.
  • Preparing and drafting manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications

Education:

A Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, human genetics, computer science, or a closely related area is required.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience in strong optimization computational skills, proficiency in one of the programming languages R, Python, Matlab, and C++, and expertise in high-performance clusters are required.

Salary Range $65,000–$75,000 per year#J-18808-Ljbffr
