Position SummaryThe Line Cook plays a critical role in preparing fresh, high-quality dishes while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
As a Line Cook at Nick's, you'll work on various kitchen stations, from grill to fry to salads, ensuring that each dish meets our high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Set up and stock kitchen stations according to restaurant guidelines.
- Prepare and cook menu items following recipes, portion control, and presentation specifications.
- Maintain fast, accurate service to ensure all dishes meet Nick's quality standards.
- Assist with prep work, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
- Keep kitchen areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout service.
- Practice safe food handling and maintain a sanitary workspace.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Work as part of a team-service approach, collaborating with colleagues to maintain a stress‑free and engaging work environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, embodying Nick's values of Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, and Accountability.
- 2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume hospitality setting (restaurant, hotel, hospital, school, or similar).
- Serv Safe certification is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of proper food handling, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working as a Server at Nick's requires energy, agility, and endurance. Candidates must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods (6‑10 hours per shift).
- Lift and carry kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Work in a hot, fast‑paced kitchen environment with exposure to ovens, grills, and fryers.
