About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial curation & standards according to the store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You have the responsibility of leading the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. You’re also responsible for analyzing and following up on sales, creating plans to optimize results and profits.

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same; a typical day will include the following responsibilities.
- Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to your store format environment, global guidelines and regional strategies.
- Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during all customer interactions.
- Establish, analyze, and follow up on sales & budget goals, and create plans to optimize results.
- Ensure personal customer service is provided in all areas of the store, guiding customers through fashion stories and actively selling our products.
- Promote our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in‑store sustainability initiatives.
- Schedule budgeted hours in line with sales budget and commercial activities.
- Oversee correct routines in fitting rooms and checkout, including transactions, returns and exchanges.
- Identify commercial opportunities and act on them, maintaining competitor awareness & knowledge.
- Manage store maintenance cost‑efficiently.
- Handle all administrative routines for people and operations.
- Keep up to date with fashion scenes, trends, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers.
- Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.
- Understand the local area, customers, competition, and fashion trends.
- Responsible for talent and performance management – recruiting, onboarding, upskilling, and developing your team.
- Complete performance evaluations and succession planning to support business needs and team growth.
- Retain and share knowledge and skills with your team.
- Collaborate strongly with the Area team and store leadership, including VMs.
- Plan & schedule the team’s working hours.
- Communicate regularly with store colleagues to inform, motivate, and inspire – through daily/weekly meetings.
- Ensure all procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements are followed.
- Participate in relevant onboarding, introductory processes, trainings, and courses for your role and future development.
- Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back‑of‑house.
- Present high‑fashion quality visual and commercial product presentation with great garment care.
- Maintain good stock levels and provide input on allocation to relevant areas or sales market colleagues.
- Support daily opening & closing store routines and processes.
- Maintain garment cycle standards – from delivery to presentation, including fitting room routines.
- Follow best practices for in‑store omni services & technology (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.).
- Maintain strong price perception by ensuring price signs align with global & local guidelines.
- Maintain BOH areas – key information, health & safety, tidiness, etc.
- Strong leader who enjoys taking responsibility for others.
- Confident in team coaching & development, ambitious, an effective communicator, an analytical solution‑finder, capable of working with numbers & managing statistics.
- Relevant experience in a leadership position that applies to this role.
- Retail management and retail operations experience.
- Experience collaborating closely with a team.
