Optical Manager

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Non-Licensed Optical Manager to lead daily operations of our in-club optical department. This role oversees associates, drives sales, and ensures outstanding member service while maintaining merchandising, inventory, and safety standards. The Optical Manager manages scheduling, training, and performance, partners with licensed professionals and club leadership, and analyzes sales metrics to meet goals. Ideal candidates bring strong retail leadership skills, optical product familiarity, and a passion for delivering value and an excellent member experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the optical department to meet sales, service, and safety standards
• Supervise, train, and schedule optical associates to ensure coverage and performance
• Deliver exceptional member service, resolving issues and supporting a positive experience
• Manage merchandising, pricing, and visual standards for optical products and displays
• Monitor and control inventory, including ordering, receiving, and shrink reduction
• Use sales and operational reports to track performance and implement improvements
• Partner with licensed eye care professionals and club leadership on promotions and initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines
• Maintain accurate point-of-sale transactions and cash handling controls
• Support new hire onboarding and ongoing skills development within the department
