Position Overview

The Sales + Retail Ambassador is a dependable, customer-focused, part-time role supporting the Made in Baltimore Store and occasional satellite locations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven retail environment and enjoys connecting people with meaningful products and stories - delivering exceptional customer experiences while directly supporting Baltimore-based makers and entrepreneurs.

Required Qualifications
  • No formal degree is required; 2–3 years of retail experience is preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and merchandising skills.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn POS and inventory systems.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor with excellent customer service and sales skills.
  • Knowledge of Baltimore’s economic and civic landscape and familiarity with the Mayor’s strategic priorities is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and foster a welcoming, inclusive store environment
  • Assist customers with product discovery, selection, and purchases
  • Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle transactions
  • Share the stories and value behind Made in Baltimore products and makers
Merchandising & Store Operations
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked
  • Receive, process, and restock inventory shipments
  • Execute daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
Vendor & Community Engagement
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with MIB vendors
  • Support off-site activations, pop-ups, and community events as needed within Baltimore City limits
  • Represent the brand. Serve as a frontline ambassador for Made in Baltimore, embodying the program’s mission to support local makers and entrepreneurs in every customer interaction.
  • Support the team. Collaborate with fellow Sales + Retail Ambassadors and the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent coverage
