Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (Oncology) is a field-based role responsible for driving demand for BMS medicines within a defined territory by engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) with a differentiated, evidence-based Customer Experience (Cx) aligned to label. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs, liaises with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, scientific support, and prioritizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business results.
This territory includes Baltimore, Towson, White Marsh, Lutherville, Bel Air, and Glen Burnie. The position requires 100% field-based time with external customers.
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
- Maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Proactively uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and to inform call plans, providing feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents information to HCPs using approved resources, conducts in-office presentations, and discusses product-related scientific information aligned with labeling.
- Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from an approved list and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging data for approved indications and engages real-time medical support as needed.
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs and shares relevant insights with internal stakeholders, while complying with all laws and policies.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create positive and differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Experience in Oncology required.
- Demonstrated strong capability in account management, superior selling competencies, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and a can-do attitude.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of performance.

- Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating credibility with customers across the patient care journey

- Operation of a company‑provided vehicle is required; eligibility criteria include being at least 21 years of age, holding a driver's license in good standing, and a driving risk level deemed acceptable by the Company.
