About the RoleThe Alternative Investment Internal Consultant is a key contributor supporting the Global Alternatives and US Intermediary businesses, representing over $650B in assets under management. The role is a sales and relationship partner with external sales professionals, focusing on development of territories and management of relationships with financial advisors.
Role SummaryAs a consultant, you will prospect, sell, and retain advisors within assigned territories through a consultative process, contributing to sales, net new flows, redemption rates, and activity targets. You will help grow and develop the Global Alternatives business at T. Rowe Price and may be based in Baltimore, New York or Colorado Springs.
Responsibilities- Relationship Management – Work with Alternative Investment Specialist team to optimize client coverage within a territory, deepening existing relationships and prospecting new opportunities.
- Business Development – Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, deepening relationships with existing advisors, and independently selling to prospects.
- Territory Management – Use data sources to identify, aggregate and prioritize target advisors; document sales measurements and develop territory plans.
- Sales Support and Follow‑up – Prepare and follow‑up on meetings with advisors, including post‑meeting emails, outbound calls and due‑diligence preparations.
- Travel/Client Facing Engagements – Attend conferences and meetings to represent the firm and generate leads.
- CRM – Update Salesforce to maintain data integrity and provide insights for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of sales experience.
- FINRA Series7 (and 63/65 or 66). FINRA licenses required and will be supported.
- Previous experience selling in intermediary markets.
- Understanding of the consultative sales process.
- Passion for capital markets and alternative investments.
- Strong data analysis and Excel skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
- High attention to detail and strong client service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
- Proven results using a consultative sales process.
- Advanced presentation and communication skills.
FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role.
Work FlexibilityThe role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges$85,500.00 – $ depending on location and experience. Base salary is one component of our total compensation package, which may include discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance.
