CompensationBase salary plus commissions with a probable income of more than $100,000. Sign‑on bonus: $5,000 ($2,500 after 90 days and $2,500 after 180 days). Final compensation is negotiable and subject to candidate experience and skills.
ResponsibilitiesThe Rental Sales Representative promotes Caterpillar equipment and Allied product rental, manages rental of all products assigned to the Division's rent‑to‑rent fleet to all customers and markets in accordance with Carter Machinery Company policies. They assist customers with equipment recommendations and technology advancements to enhance productivity, ensure all equipment deliveries meet rental agreement conditions, and monitor customer satisfaction.
Requirements- Self‑starter, works with limited supervision, sets priorities and implements ideas.
- High mechanical aptitude; understands construction phases and project conditions to recommend appropriate products.
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills; builds and maintains strong relationships.
- Maintains existing customers with periodic visits and proactively prospects new ones.
- Good listener with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Innovative and creative; evaluates facts and uses good judgment.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license; can tow and operate equipment for demonstrations.
- Strong PC skills; self‑develops and adapts to technology.
- Frequent travel required – overnight or out‑town by car or airplane.
- Handles large volumes of work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willing to work required shifts, including days, nights, weekends.
- Promotes positive customer experience.
- Upholds core values of integrity, commitment, excellence, teamwork.
- Minimum two years sales experience.
- Experience in material handling, construction, engineering or equipment distribution preferred.
- Required to sit, talk, hear.
- Frequently stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
