Maxalea Landscaping is hiring a Commercial Business Developer to help grow our commercial client base in the Baltimore market.
This is a true new business development / hunter sales role focused on building relationships, creating opportunities, and winning new commercial landscaping work with property managers, building owners, associations, and commercial decision-makers.
Maxalea has a strong reputation in high‑end residential landscaping and is now focused on expanding its commercial footprint. We're looking for someone who is confident prospecting, networking, and helping build a market from the ground up.

- Commercial landscaping experience preferred, but strong adjacent industry sales experience will be considered
- Build and manage a pipeline of new commercial business
- Prospect through cold outreach, referrals, networking, and local market activity
- Develop relationships with property managers, building owners, condo/HOA associations, schools, hospitals, apartments, and commercial clients
- Attend industry events and association meetings to grow Maxalea's visibility
- Walk properties, gather site details, and support proposal development
- Prepare, present, and follow up on commercial landscaping proposals
- Track leads, activity, follow‑ups, and pipeline updates in Hub Spot or another CRM
- Partner with operations and finance to align sold work with scheduling, service capabilities, and profitability goals
- Ensure a smooth handoff from sales to operations/account management
- 3–5+ years of sales, business development, or account development experience
- Experience selling to commercial clients, property managers, facilities teams, building owners, associations, or similar decision‑makers
- Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to generate new business and manage your own pipeline
- Strong communication, presentation, and follow‑up skills
- CRM experience;
Hub Spot experience is a plus - Valid driver's license
- Local to the Baltimore market
Commercial landscaping experience is a strong plus, but not required.
We are also open to commercial sales experience in:
- Facilities services
- Commercial HVAC
- Roofing
- Pest control
- Construction services
Existing relationships with property management groups, commercial real estate contacts, BOMA, condo associations, HOAs, or local commercial networks are highly valued.
