Position: Therapeutic Specialist - Baltimore / Pittsburgh

Position Summary

The Therapeutic Sales Specialist (TS) – Baltimore / Pittsburgh serves as a key representative of Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in an assigned territory. The role focuses on maximizing product sales by communicating the value proposition of the Endocrinology portfolio to stakeholders. The primary goal is to drive business growth and achieve the company’s strategic objectives.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan for a broad geographical area to target, penetrate, and establish a network of relationships with key decision makers.
  • Effectively call on physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other providers across multiple medical sub‑specialties.
  • Visit physicians’ offices, hospitals, academic medical centers, specialty pharmacies, IDNs, and other sites.
  • Fully understand and communicate clear messages in complex clinical situations.
  • Manage hybrid relationships through a mix of in‑person (70%+) and virtual engagement, leveraging next‑generation working methods to maximize efficiency.
  • Utilize data sources to maximize strategies and efficiencies, capitalizing on opportunities with the greatest ROI.
  • Attain or exceed assigned sales and profit goals.
  • Manage and track territory‑specific information through a CRM system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Healthcare Industry sales experience.
  • Ability to work independently while managing key account relationships.
  • Demonstrated growth in sales while managing your own territory.
  • Documented track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Business acumen and strong comprehension of complex clinical information.
  • Ability to articulate complex clinical messages to healthcare providers in real‑time situations.
  • Excellent organization and time‑management skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and virtual engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with a CRM tool (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce).
  • Independent, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Experience Includes
  • Endocrinology experience.
  • Hospital sales experience – familiarity with P&T/formulary process.
  • Knowledge of local and regional health systems.
Physical Demands And Work Environment

Requires sitting at a desk for long periods, intermittently answering phones, writing, and using a keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level is low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Travel

Travel may be required for up to 50% of the time.

Salary Range

$160,000 – $200,000.

The total rewards program includes a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401(k) match. Health insurance plans for employees and families include medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional benefits: 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.
