Position: Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) - Baltimore, MD

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion direction.
  • Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in territory.
  • Maintain up-to-date product, disease, competitive, and market reimbursement knowledge.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets/time) in territory.
  • Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate effectively with target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement in institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Complete required monitoring/reporting (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
  • Maintain full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet healthcare provider/customer facility/state/local credentialing requirements; complete ad-hoc projects.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (otherwise may be considered for “Associate”).
  • Atypical antipsychotic and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management preferred.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in territory preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving history.
  • Must reside within territory geography; ability to travel (including overnights) and possible off-hours meetings.
Performance Competencies / Skills
  • Goal/results driven; strong communication (interpersonal/verbal/written); ability to navigate complex markets.
  • Organized; effective selling/presentation; manage multiple priorities and adapt to roadblocks.
  • Customer-focused, self-motivated, computer proficient.
  • May require occasional lifting/moving up to 15 lbs.
