Ready to bring our renowned, privately-owned Virginia bourbon to the bars, restaurants, and bottle shops of Maryland and DC? Ragged Mountain Farms (Ragged Branch Bourbon DBA) is a growing craft bourbon brand with a devoted following rooted in the heart of Appalachia and DMV region — and we’re looking for a passionate, driven Sales Ambassador to carry that story into new territory.

THE ROLE
As Territory Sales Ambassador for Maryland (Including Montgomery Co) & DC, you’ll be the face of Ragged Branch in your market. You’ll work directly in partnership with key retailers, bar owners, managers, and bartenders to build brand awareness, drive trial, and grow distribution. You’ll collaborate with our distributor partner and key accounts to expand our footprint — and you’ll bring the brand to life through tastings, events, and education.
The role reports to our East Coast Sales & Marketing Lead.
- Serve as the resident brand expert — know the product, the story, and the category inside and out. We provide strong training alongside of our sales leaders and an opportunity to learn straight from our distillery team members and Master Distiller.
- Build strong relationships with key account decision-makers and distributor partners.
- Activate the brand at trade shows, consumer events, and distributor events.
- Execute consumer tastings at retail and on-premise accounts to build a network of brand evangelists.
Help us to build our footprint behind the bars of our target account universe—bars, restaurants, hotels, etc. Build relationships with owners, beverage directors, and bar managers. Secure placements, drive reorders, and grow Ragged Branch’s presence at the rail. Distribution and sales opportunities will include our Custom Barrel Program, in addition to our core bourbon portfolio.
Brand EducationConduct staff training sessions at on-premise accounts. Product knowledge, cocktail applications, and the brand stories behind every bottle. Staff who understand the brand sell it. Staff who love it champion it.
Reporting & BudgetingWe don't believe in tracking trackers around here. However, it will be important to communicate account calls, sales, and anecdotal feedback to direct supervisor, distributor partners, etc.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- Current TIPS/RBS certification and a valid driver’s license
- Previous experience in spirits or wine sales, brand ambassador work, or a related field preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of bourbon, whiskey, or spirits categories is a plus. Passion for the category and growing a 'local' brand in the DMV region is a MUST.
- Flexible availability — evenings and weekends are a regular part of this role
- Monthly Retainer
- Commission on Sales Performance.
- Expense coverage for approved market activities.
- This role is a part-time, contract role and does not qualify for benefits.
