The RoleArnold Automation is hiring a driven Packaging Systems Sales Representative to sell both automated packaging equipment, the machine‑length consumables that run through them, and the capabilities of our service organization. Stretch wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, strapping machines, and print‑and‑apply units all run machine‑length materials, the long‑format rolls engineered for automated applications. Some customers need new equipment; others already run machines and simply need the right materials to feed them, or service to keep their machines running.
Either way, every automated line on a floor is recurring volume, and this role exists to capture the consumables, the machines that run them, and service when applicable. This is a hybrid role operating from our HQ in Sparrows Point, MD, but the region includes Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware. This role will report to the office at least one day a week for collaboration and technical training.
You’ll Do
- Drive New Business
:
Hunt and close your own deals through prospecting, cold‑calling, and expanding existing accounts. - Sell the Full Solution
:
Sell the automation – stretch wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, strapping machines, print‑and‑apply systems – and the machine‑length consumables that run through it. Ensure proper long‑term operation with service, repair and promotion of preventative maintenance agreements. - Read Each Account
:
New equipment where they need it, service and repair when appropriate, the right machine‑length materials where they already have equipment on the floor. - Convert the Installed Base
:
Pursue machines already running, Arnold’s or a competitor’s, that are sourcing consumables elsewhere, plus accounts where we placed the equipment but not the materials. Turn machine‑only relationships into full, recurring consumable business. Control the razor and blades by moving them to our service team. - Value Sell with ROI
:
Quantify cost‑per‑load, material yield, run rates, and downtime, and build the ROI that wins the business. Construct buy/fix analysis when applicable. - Engage Decision Makers
:
Deliver compelling, results‑backed presentations to stakeholders from the plant floor to the C‑suite. Engage facilities and maintenance teams to communicate the value proposition of our service capabilities. - Be the Subject Matter Expert
:
Develop deep expertise across both the equipment and machine‑length tape, stretch film, shrink film, strapping, and labels, becoming the go‑to resource for Arnold and your customers. Grab a wrench and make minor adjustments to improve customer productivity and build your credibility. - Be a Team Player
:
Work with Arnold Packaging’s Territory Managers and Arnold Automation’s specialists to expand penetration, accept hand‑offs on accounts where we’ve placed machines but not materials, and ensure we capture the consumable business. - Strategic Account Expansion

Identify current customers not yet buying machine‑length consumables from Arnold, and go win that business! - Travel

While most of our customers are local, you will get to see the country! A typical year is ~30% with some flexibility up or down. - Have Fun
