Army Business Development Director
Support mission‑critical initiatives and enable the growth of our business as a Business Development Director ’ll become an integral part of how GDIT ensures the safety and security of our nation.
Meaningful Work and Personal Impact As a Business Development Director, the work you’ll do at GDIT will impact the mission of the Department of the Army. You will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities where GDIT can partner with the Army to deliver game‑changing capabilities in support of Army transformation, while also growing our business.
Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of account growth, new business development and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts.
- Meet with customers to understand the customer territory relative to portfolio of deals.
- Develop a pipeline of new opportunities for assigned sector or market segment.
- Lead identification and qualification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, sector growth goals, and submit targets throughout the opportunity life cycle.
- Lead early development of win strategy during the assessment phase, prior to assignment of a Capture Manager.
- Lead identification, qualification, and capture on select OTAs with assistance from the Defense CTO/SA.
- Execute call plans to collect information about opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, offer and test potential solutions, qualify opportunities, and document customer meetings in Salesforce.
- Meet with OEM vendors, other GDIT business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customers.
- Develop customer relationships, improve customer intimacy, and strengthen key customer relationships.
- Identify competitors, assess strategic fit and OCI.
- Prepare for and brief opportunities at formal gate reviews.
- Develop and brief pursuit reviews.
- Provide insight from the customer point of view throughout the opportunity life cycle.
- BS/BA degree required.
- 10+ years of sales, business development, capture, or proposal experience within the DoD/Army environment; preferably in a technical area (e.g., signals, cyber) and/or acquisition background.
- Demonstrated experience managing a pipeline of business focused on year‑over‑year growth or an equivalent pipeline of acquisitions or major government projects.
- Demonstrable track record of converting that pipeline into single award wins of $50 M+ and/or equivalent experience managing government projects or acquisitions to successful completion.
- Experience developing account strategies or strategies for capability development and acquisition.
- Experience with forecasting tools, including CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to provide a deal sheet of opportunities led and supported with results (won, lost, pending), without disclosing proprietary information.
- Secret clearance required to start, with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Location:
hybrid to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD or Falls Church, VA office; expected to work three days per week in office or customer sites as needed. - U.S. citizenship required.
- Technical expertise in software development, cloud, cybersecurity, AI, or advanced logistics.
- Master’s degree.
- Ability to develop actionable plans by leveraging market knowledge.
- Significant professional connections with government leaders in Northern Virginia, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Augusta, and/or Sierra Vista.

The likely salary range for this position is $173,400 - $234,600. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
