About the Opportunity

We are currently representing a leading engineering consultancy in the search for a Director of Business Development – Rail & Transit to support the continued growth and expansion of its national Railroad & Transit practice.

This is a senior-level, client-facing position for an established business development professional with a strong background in the rail and transit engineering market
. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing strategic relationships, identifying new opportunities, leading capture strategies, and driving sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to support growth across the Railroad & Transit market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with transit agencies, rail organizations, clients, industry partners and teaming firms
  .
• Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
• Lead capture strategies, including client positioning, teaming, opportunity planning and win strategies
  .
• Work closely with technical and marketing teams to develop compelling proposals, presentations and fee strategies.
• Monitor market trends, infrastructure investment, funding programs and upcoming procurement opportunities.
• Support contract negotiations, partnership development and other commercial activities.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events and client engagements.
• Collaborate with business unit leadership to develop and manage the business development pipeline.
