As a Principal Compliance Engineer, you will advise clients on integrating compliance into their technical operations, translating legal knowledge into engineering requirements to support mission success.
Requirements
- Ability to extract applicable law and policy excerpts related to computer platforms and systems.
- Convert legal and policy requirements into engineering terminology for compliance standards.
- Understand emerging legal, compliance, and policy rulings affecting implementation choices.
- Recognize when additional legal guidance is needed.
- Prepare incident reports and legal/policy review requests.
- Draft compliance-related technical recommendations.
- Contribute to systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements Specifications.
- Assist in early design phases to ensure compliance outcomes.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. government privacy laws, especially related to DoD and IC.
- Understanding of roles and authorities within the IC.
- Minimum 15 years of legal, compliance, or related experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in the IC in legal, policy, compliance, or privacy roles.
- Experience interpreting the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and foreign data privacy laws.
- Strong communication skills, with experience in stakeholder presentations.
