220) - Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix
- Complete Instructor led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Perform complex repairs with minimal support
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support
- Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution for roadside breakdowns
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint
- Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance, repair procedures and diagnostics
- Coach/mentor other technicians
- Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
- Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in compliance with safety, DOT, MOT and other guidelines
- Support operations with other duties as required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification or post-secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Mechanical repair experience on automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance and diagnostics
- Advanced repairs including major engine repairs, diesel aftertreatment or fuel injection repairs
- Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- Other certifications as required by location
- Ability to perform all T3 tasks
- Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Shift work, weekends and on-call duty as required
- ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic preferred
- Operate shop computers and diagnostic test equipment proficiently
- Minimum tool requirements
- Road test vehicles as necessary
- Coach/mentor/influence others
- This position requires driving Ryder vehicles and obtaining CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/driving checks for the last 3 years
