GMS is seeking a well-rounded HVAC Service Technician to support Baltimore City Schools. This is a full-time, permanent Union position with the Local 486 offering year-round stability, strong pay, and excellent benefits. We’re looking for a technician with broad skills who can confidently troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems.
Pay: 52.28/hr
What you'll be doing:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of commercial and institutional HVAC systems, including boilers, burners, RTUs, pumps, air handlers, and walk-in coolers.
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and warranty services.
- Replace components or complete systems as needed.
- Maintain compliance with service standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements.
- Document all work performed and communicate effectively with clients and supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need to bring to the table:
- 3+ years of HVAC service experience in commercial or institutional settings.
- EPA Universal Certification (required).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or higher preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC service techniques and safety practices.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Union position with year-round work stability.
