Meat Cutter

Position Summary

Responsible for cleaning, cutting, portioning, and merchandising all boneless meat products.

1st Shift, Mon – Fri, 9:00am – finish. Baltimore, MD.

• Clean, trim, slice, and portion subprimals of beef, pork, lamb, and veal.
• Inspect meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
• Accurately read and comprehend all customer‑specific instructions.
• Perform quality control checks and communicate defects to supervisors and managers.
• Separate meats and byproducts into specified containers, seal containers, weigh meats, and tag containers for weight and contents.
• Use knives, cleavers, and other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.
• Follow detailed product specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Working knowledge of production equipment.
• Ability to portion all boneless cuts of meat accurately and timely.
• Ability to reduce processing costs while meeting customer specifications.
• Problem‑solving skills for trimming and product substitutions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure, challenging environment.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Understanding of the Meat Buyer’s Guide specifications as they relate to the company’s internal product specifications.

Must provide most recent employment experience. Candidates scheduled for interview may be required to provide a letter of support from Halperns’ customer management.
