Field Installation Support Technician (Tooling & Logistics)

Responsibilities- Ensure Field Installation personnel have all necessary tools and equipment to complete jobs.
- Inventory and pack tool sets.
- Ability to perform inventory inspections thoroughly via printed or electronic lists.
- Replenish/clean up tool sets when returned from site.
- Assist with fixing any damaged tools and equipment.
- Perform safety inspections of Field Installation safety equipment such as lifting equipment and fall restraint systems or fall protection. Where required, training will be provided.
- MHE needs to be checked before shipment (water in battery, fully charged, good working order).
- Assist with securing specialized equipment for shipment if needed.
- Perform continuous improvement efforts in facility to improve productivity.
- Label and scan items for shipment creating an electronic “transfer cart”.
- Support general maintenance requests as directed by Field Installation Supervisor and Manager.
- Maintain warehouse organization/Inventory.
- Perform housekeeping duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Effectively exhibit teamwork and self – management practices.
- Follow the attendance policy of the Department.
- Follow all safety procedures and policies.
- Ability to walk up to 10,000 steps per day.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Qualified forklift experience/Certification.
- Truck loading and unloading experience.
- Proficient with powered tools, forklifts, and vertical lifts.
- Previous experience with the operation of lift equipment.
- Light mechanical assembly (use of hand tools like wrenches sockets and screwdrivers)
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software such as Outlook (Teams a plus).
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with all types of people in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be willing to cross-train in other work centers if/as needed.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and fractions).
- Able to safely work for extended periods of time, well beyond an 8-hour workday.
- Work overtime flexible schedules, holidays, and weekends as required.
- Ability to lift materials up to 75 pounds.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience with a database/inventory management system.
- Warehouse experience.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Prior woodworking experience.
- Ability to construct things from scratch.
- Previous assembly and fabrication/welding
- Usage of shear, break, iron worker etc.
- Construction experience / Preferred in Automation/Industrial.
