Maintenance Technician II - Evening Shift

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale production machinery within an industrial laundry facility. This role performs advanced mechanical, electrical, plumbing, boiler, welding, HVAC, and general facilities maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and efficient operations. The position may provide work direction to junior maintenance staff while remaining primarily hands‑on.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May assist with training and onboarding of maintenance staff.
  • May assign daily tasks and provide guidance to Maintenance Technician I employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, washers, dryers, boilers, and other industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and complete effective repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, operation manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Inspect equipment, identify worn or damaged parts, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Install, replace, and adjust machine components and facility systems as needed.
  • Coordinate with management to schedule preventive maintenance and support production needs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and work documentation.
  • Complete general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, and structural repairs.
  • Support vendor coordination and assist with equipment installations or modifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining industrial processing or production equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, work-order systems, and maintenance planning.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with operations and leadership.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Boiler operation knowledge or experience.
  • Welding experience, including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.
  • HVAC maintenance experience.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational, technical, or community college coursework in a related field or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals, heat, humidity, noise, and moving machinery with appropriate PPE.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a fast‑paced industrial environment with exposure to heat, humidity, noise, chemicals, and moving machinery.
Work Schedule
  • Evening Shift 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
  • Weekend availability, emergency on‑call coverage, and schedule flexibility are required.
Compensation
  • Hourly Pay Range: $26.00 – $36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and certifications.
