Job DescriptionJoin our team and help support low‑income older adults and individuals with disabilities by improving the safety, accessibility, and comfort of their homes. As an Assistant Home Repair Technician, you’ll gain hands‑on experience while contributing to work that truly changes lives.
Position OverviewThe Assistant Home Repair Technician works alongside the Senior Home Repair Technician with home repair and modification services for low‑income older adults and individuals with disabilities. This role assists with repairs, safety improvements, and accessibility upgrades that help clients remain safely in their homes. The position provides hands‑on support with projects, materials, and client interactions while helping ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with residential repairs and modifications, including:
- Basic plumbing and minor electrical work
- Lock repair and installation (doors and windows)
- Smoke detector installation and maintenance
- Glass repair and replacement
- Grab bar installation and safety upgrades
- Contact clients to schedule service appointments
- Interact respectfully and professionally with older adults and individuals with disabilities
- Support the Senior Technician with job preparation and execution
- Purchase materials as directed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Assist in ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standards
- 1‑2 years of handyman, construction, or home repair experience preferred (or equivalent hands‑on skills)
- Experience using hand and power tools, ladders, and standard repair equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment drug screening
- Ability to communicate effectively and build trust with older adults
- Team‑oriented, dependable, and supportive
- Responsible stewardship of company vehicle and equipment
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday
- Frequently lift and move materials over 50 lbs.

$21.00 - $23.50 per hour, based on experience and skills
