TOPS Staffing is recruiting for a Direct Hire Millwright / Industrial Mechanic opportunity with a large bulk material handling terminal in the Baltimore area. ScheduleDuPont Rotating Schedule – 12‑Hour Shifts (Days & Nights)
- Approximately 15 working days and 15 days off each month
- One full week off every 4‑week rotation
- Built‑in overtime opportunities
- Predictable schedule for planning personal time
- No more than 4 consecutive workdays
Compensation:
Base Pay $44.84 per hour. Built‑in overtime, monthly and quarterly bonus opportunities, performance multiplier incentives. Expected annual earnings $110,000‑$120,000+.
This role provides mechanical maintenance and repair support for a large industrial terminal that unloads railcars and transfers material through extensive conveyor systems for vessel loading operations. The Millwright / Industrial Mechanic will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain a variety of heavy industrial equipment while helping maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and rotating equipment.
- Replace bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, sprockets, and other mechanical components.
- Perform precision alignments of motors, drives, and rotating equipment.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Fabricate and modify equipment components as needed.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and torch work for repairs.
- Safely use rigging equipment, cranes, hoists, and lifting devices.
- Assist with installation of new equipment and maintenance projects.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and hot work requirements.
- Cross‑train on operational equipment including loaders, dozers, locomotives, cranes, and other mobile equipment.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance, millwright, mechanic, or heavy equipment repair experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems, rotating equipment, and industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with bearing replacement, shaft alignment, and equipment installation.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and oxy‑acetylene torches.
- Experience with rigging, cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
- Millwright experience.
- Experience working at ports, terminals, steel mills, power plants, mining operations, aggregate facilities, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial automation or PLC‑controlled equipment.
- Experience maintaining conveyor systems and bulk material handling equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance materials and equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks.
