job summary
the general maintenance worker performs maintenance, repairs, and cleaning on assigned equipment and facilities during the 2nd shift.
responsibilities- perform minor fixes, such as ceiling tiles, wall damage, and replacing light bulbs.
- install required equipment as directed.
- monitor system controls, record critical data, and adjust systems for proper operation.
- perform necessary cleaning activities, including dusting, mopping, and trash removal.
- complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
- inspect and diagnose equipment and building system issues.
- test and document the facility's safety systems.
- report resolved and outstanding issues to the facilities or maintenance manager.
- other duties as assigned.
- high school diploma or equivalent.
- must have a valid driver's license.
- must be able to pass a federal background check.
- proven experience as a maintenance worker or similar role.
- basic working knowledge of hvac, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- general passion for creative problem-solving.
- must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, and perform constant arm extensions.
- occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards, with the likely result being cuts, bruises, etc.
the rate for this position is $33.82 per hour. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of benefits based on applicable bargaining unit agreements.
