Salary Range
$47,699 - $77,744 annually.
Job SummaryA Sewerline Video Inspection Technician performs inspections of sewer lines for leaks, breaks, clogs, and damage using video equipment. The position involves moderate physical exertion, occasional evening or weekend work, and exposure to outdoor conditions such as odors and inclement weather.
Responsibilities- Operate television cameras, sealing equipment, and videotape recorders.
- Interpret video tapes and recommend repairs to sewer lines.
- Maintain records and write inspection reports.
- Coordinate work of subordinate workers, providing guidance but not supervisory functions.
- Perform minor repairs on inspection equipment.
- Work outdoors and under varying weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of experience in sewerline inspection and maintenance using television cameras and videotape recorders. Six months of video inspection experience can substitute for each year of high school or GED requirement.
- Valid Maryland Class C noncommercial driver’s license and eligibility to obtain a Baltimore City driver’s permit. Provisional license or learner permit is not acceptable. A copy of the driver’s license must be uploaded with the application.
- Knowledge of sewer construction, installation, and maintenance work.
- Knowledge of operation of video equipment for sewer inspection.
- Ability to operate and make minor repairs on television cameras, sealing equipment, and videotape recorders.
- Ability to interpret video inspection tapes for others.
- Ability to evaluate problems in sewer lines and make recommendations for corrections.
- Ability to maintain records and write reports.
- Ability to assign and review the work of subordinate workers.

Additional InformationEligible candidates under final consideration will be required to complete a criminal background check and fingerprint authorization. All selected candidates must complete a mandatory six‑month probationary period. Positions are considered for vacancies as they arise for at least six months.
