Job OverviewUnder direction of the Facility Supervisor, the General Maintenance Worker will provide daily maintenance operations and activities for all assigned facilities. The incumbent receives, evaluates, and completes work orders and repairs, responding to emergencies as required.
Pay RatePay Rate: $31.16 per hour.
Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, repair, and install equipment, components, and systems that support the facility and infrastructure.
- Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, and instructions.
- Use a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Organize work and meet deadlines, handling multiple tasks daily.
- Coordinate with trade personnel and warehouse staff to identify materials and parts needed for requisitions.
- Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
- Inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
- Perform on‑call and preventive maintenance duties.
- Help perform periodic stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items.
- Operate government or company‑owned motor vehicles and other equipment when required.
- Perform various lower‑classified duties such as file maintenance, workspace cleanup, warehouse maintenance, and telephone answering as required.
- Support and assist other department staff and trade groups as needed.
- Adhere to established safety, personnel policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent GED.
- At least two years of experience performing maintenance in a facilities environment.
- General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical (door, gate, and closure), plumbing, and carpentry (framing, decking, railings).
- Basic mathematical proficiency.
- Good working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Professional, courteous interaction with a variety of people in diverse situations.
- Judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to pass a pre‑hire background check and drug screening.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required intelligence‑community clearance.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Trade certifications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry.
- Competency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
