Flooring Installation Foreman Baltimore, MD
A specialty commercial flooring contractor is seeking a Working Foreman - Flooring Installation to support floor installations across a variety of project sites. This role is ideal for hands-on installers ready to take ownership of jobsite execution, crew coordination, and quality control.
Core Responsibilities- Prepare floor surfaces prior to installation using shot-blast equipment, hand scraping tools, grinders, sanders, and vacuums
- Protect work areas with tape, paper, or plastic; install termination strips as required
- Mobilize materials and equipment to job sites using pallet jacks and proper lifting techniques
- Mix multi-component flooring systems, including liquid resins, liquid hardeners, and aggregates
- Apply liquid flooring materials using rollers, hand trowels, and specialty tools
- Perform occasional wall applications using similar materials applied vertically
- Maintain daily jobsite cleanliness, including disposal of waste and securing tools and materials
- Comply with all safety requirements, including use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields when required
- Lead and manage a small crew
- Coordinate day-to-day onsite activities with customers and/or general contractors
- Manage installation schedule, workmanship quality, and production flow
- Ensure installations meet required specifications, standards, and safety protocols
- Serve as the primary onsite point of accountability for the project
- Projects include existing facilities and newly constructed buildings
- Work conditions vary by project and typically occur during the finishing stages of construction
- Frequent standing, kneeling, squatting, and crawling throughout the workday
- Frequent lifting up to 40 lbs; occasional lifting of 50–75 lbs
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver materials and equipment
- Epoxy flooring installation routinely requires kneeling and crawling across large floor areas, ranging from several hundred to several thousand square feet
- Company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, and tools/equipment for foreman-level roles
- Prior experience in epoxy, resinous, or specialty flooring installation
- Experience leading crews or acting as a working foreman preferred
- Strong understanding of surface preparation methods and flooring application techniques
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments
