Installation Technician
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Installation Supervisor to join our Group Technology team. This position requires travel of 60%, both internationally and nationally, and the ability to relocate for extended time periods to project sites.
What You Will Be DoingYou’ll own the site installation, testing and commissioning of our production equipment and solutions. Working with design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, you’ll ensure that all equipment within the factory is supplied where required.
Responsibilities- Take full responsibility for project execution with respect to installation, testing and commissioning.
- Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments – environment, safety, MMR’s, are included in solutions.
- Communicate and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Ensure all documentation/reports are done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools.
- Ensure that all site work is done safely and in accordance with best practice site safety.
- Substantial travel inside and outside of North America is to be expected for project execution, supplier visits, coordination, etc.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years working in a similar position, with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications experience required.
- 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program.
- Ability to travel both nationally and internationally 60% of the time.
- Extended periods of presence at project sites are required, ie. temporary relocation.
- Strong communication skills.
- Preference given to candidates who have smith, mechanic or other type of craftsman expertise.
