The Marine Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Baltimore, MD, responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of boats and marine systems. Day‑to‑day tasks include inspecting vessels, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing scheduled maintenance, and carrying out repairs on motors, engines, and related components. The role involves working with electrical wiring, batteries, and onboard systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
The Marine Technician will also assist with sea trials, winterization and commissioning, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with service managers and customers. This position requires adherence to safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and collaborating with other team members to meet service deadlines and quality standards.
- Strong skills in boat maintenance and repair, including routine service and diagnostic work on a variety of vessels.
- Experience working with marine motors and engines, including troubleshooting, repair, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and marine electrical systems, with the ability to safely install, repair, and test components.
- Background in marine, navy, or related mechanical fields, demonstrating familiarity with maritime operations and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Effective problem‑solving skills and attention to detail in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
- Physical ability to work on and around boats, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces, in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with service teams and interact professionally with customers.
- Relevant technical or vocational training in marine technology, mechanics, or a related field; industry certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; ability to comply with all company safety and operational policies.
