Lead Low Voltage Technician
Location:
Millersville, Maryland
- Supervise and direct onsite teams of 3–5 low voltage technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety standards
- Manage daily project tasks to meet deadlines and stay within budget
- Oversee and perform installation, termination, dressing, and labeling of CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
- Conduct cable testing using industry-standard equipment (Fluke or similar)
- Punch down voice and data jacks, ensuring secure and reliable connections
- Install and terminate racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, workstation outlets, and fire stopping materials
- Interpret and work from blueprints, system layouts, and technical drawings
- Safely operate ladders and lifts of all sizes (must be comfortable working at heights)
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on‑site as needed
- 5+ years of hands‑on commercial or industrial low voltage experience
- Experience with structured cabling and electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
- Proven experience leading crews or supervising installation teams
- Strong working knowledge of telecom and data network infrastructure
- BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications highly preferred
- Manufacturer certifications are a plus
- Must possess basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi‑vis vest, steel‑toe boots)
- Willingness to travel to job sites within the DMV area as needed
