Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic II (G10)
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic II (G10) to perform a wide range of general maintenance duties, including specialized and complex repairs. This role is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and inspecting machinery, mechanical equipment, and building systems. The position involves work on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks, including high-voltage motors.
This is a first-shift position that requires weekend coverage.
Key Responsibilities- Repair, adjust, or replace structural components of buildings and facilities, including doors, windows, partitions, ceilings, floors, roofs, cabinets, locks, hinges, and related hardware.
- Perform plumbing work, including repair and maintenance of pipes, fixtures, valves, drains, grease traps, sump pumps, watering systems, and hot water heaters.
- Maintain and service HVAC and mechanical systems such as air-conditioning units, freezers, refrigerators, heat pumps, fan coil units, induction units, terminal reheat systems, and related equipment.
- Perform rough carpentry work, including construction of wood forms, platforms, partitions, shelving, racks, benches, and other structures.
- Prepare and apply paint to walls, ceilings, doors, windows, floors, roofs, and other building surfaces as needed.
- Repair and maintain electrical systems, including switches, circuit breakers, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and building systems operate efficiently, including inspecting motors, belts, fluid levels, and replacing filters.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced maintenance staff as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures to prevent injury, property damage, or equipment failure.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Be available for on-call or 24-hour emergency response as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a skilled trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical principles, woodworking, blueprint reading, and basic math and science concepts.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in a specific trade or skill set.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout facilities.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as required.
- Proficiency in using a full range of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with a diverse group of individuals.
