Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director to maintain the orderly functioning of all equipment in the facility including the kitchen, laundry, heating, air conditioning and elevators.
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and heating and air-conditioning. Licensure or certification in any of these areas is preferred.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties.
- Must have good problem solving and trouble‑shooting abilities.
- Be personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly.
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, OSHA, LSC, IDPH, and HFS regulations relevant to building design, maintenance, and proper functioning of all equipment.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, linens, etc in excess of fifty (50) pounds as required.
