POSITION: HVAC MECHANIC
-MAINTENANCE I
LOCATION: MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
SALARY:
Range from $22.79 - $27.39 per hour
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in commercial/industrial electrical, heating, air conditioning, and control circuit, installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Must possess a current EPA Universal Certification.
- Must have journeyman certification or equivalent experience.
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Must have knowledge of building construction methods, materials, equipment, and be able to operate all hand and power tools.
- Must be licensed to operate a vehicle in the State of Maryland and be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must possess all necessary hand tools for assigned work
- Must be able to pass a physical as per OSHA Regulations 20 CFR 1910.13 – Respiratory Protection.
- Must be able to read, write, add, and subtract in whole numbers, and calculate in fractions.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must have regular on-time attendance.
- Must be capable of performing the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Experience with trouble shooting and repair of mechanical chillers.
- Experience with pneumatic and digital HVAC control systems.
- Experience with three-phase electrical systems and equipment.
- Experience with the installation and maintenance of Ethernet and fiber optic communication systems.
- Plan, inspect, and do repair work on various mechanical and electrical systems both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Complete specific assignments requiring knowledge of and skills in the areas listed above.
- Interprets and works from blueprints and specifications.
- Interprets oral and written instructions
- Calculates material and tools needed for specific jobs
- Performs other necessary duties as assigned
- May perform any or all the duties of lower grade maintenance employees as assigned
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
- Must be able to reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.
- Must be able to lift 50 to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders, build and work from scaffolding, and work from aerial lifts.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures.
