Clear Creek DCS, Inc. Position Summary

The Field Technician II independently installs, operates, and demobilizes temporary flushing systems used for the full-service flushing of facility water piping and technology cooling system (TCS) loop piping at data centers. The Field Technician II executes project flushing plans, performs chemical cleaning and passivation operations, conducts field water chemistry testing, and documents results to project acceptance criteria, while providing day-to-day guidance to entry-level technicians.

Job Duties
  • Install, connect, and commission temporary flushing systems — pump skids, filtration units, hoses, temporary piping, and instrumentation — on facility water and TCS loop piping in accordance with project flushing plans.
  • Operate flushing equipment to achieve and maintain required flow rates and velocities through each piping circuit, sequencing valves and circuits per the flushing plan.
  • Perform chemical cleaning, degreasing, and passivation operations, including chemical addition, circulation, monitoring, neutralization, and disposal coordination in accordance with SDS and company procedures.
  • Conduct field water quality testing (e.g., turbidity, total suspended solids, iron, conductivity, pH, inhibitor levels) and interpret results against project cleanliness and acceptance criteria.
  • Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical drawings, and flushing diagrams to plan circuit isolation, temporary connections, and flow paths.
  • Monitor and maintain filtration equipment, including bag and cartridge changes based on differential pressure, and track solids removal.
  • Complete accurate flushing records, water test logs, chemical usage logs, and shift reports; assist in preparing turnover documentation and final flush reports.
  • Coordinate daily activities with general contractor, mechanical contractor, and commissioning agent representatives as directed by the crew lead.
  • Troubleshoot common equipment and process issues such as pump cavitation, air binding, low flow, and filter blinding.
  • Provide on-the-job training, direction, and mentorship to Field Technician I team members.
  • Comply with and help enforce all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and chemical handling procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in a mechanical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years of hands-on experience in pipe flushing, chemical cleaning, hydronic/HVAC systems, water treatment, pipe fitting, or closely related mechanical field services.
  • Working knowledge of pumps, valves, piping components, filtration equipment, and basic water chemistry.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and written procedures.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass background check and drug screen for data center site access.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) for extended project assignments.
  • Proficiency completing digital field documentation and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience flushing chilled water, condenser water, or TCS/liquid cooling loops in data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience supporting commissioning (Cx) activities and working to commissioning agent acceptance criteria.
  • Certifications such as forklift and aerial lift.
  • DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed at active data center construction sites and operating mission-critical facilities.
  • Regular exposure to construction-site conditions, including noise, dust, vibration, temperature extremes, wet surfaces, and energized mechanical equipment.
