Field Maintenance Technician

Reliable Precision Alignment (RPA) is continuing to grow, and we're expanding our field maintenance technician team in Baltimore or the surrounding area.

We are hiring across all five RPA technician levels
, from developing technicians looking to build their industrial maintenance careers to experienced field leaders capable of independently leading crews and projects:
Technician I, Technician II, Technician III, Deputy Lead Technician, Lead Technician.

RPA is a veteran-owned maintenance company specializing in conveyance and sorter systems. Our mission is to provide maintenance services in a safe, reliable, precise, and cost-effective manner while delivering first-time quality work for our customers.

RPA technicians perform hands-on field work involving conveyor and MHE systems. Depending on your experience, technician level, and project assignment, responsibilities may include:

• Preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Conveyor and material-handling equipment repairs.
• Mechanical troubleshooting.
• Conveyor installation and decommissioning.
• Belt and component replacement.
• Equipment and system troubleshooting.
• Emergency and reactive service calls.
• Project installations and facility work.
• Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety briefings.
• Customer and project communications.
• Mentoring and leading other technicians.

Technician I positions operate under the direction of experienced personnel, while Technician II and III positions progressively require greater independence, troubleshooting ability, and technical competency. Deputy Lead and Lead Technicians take on increasing responsibility for teams, safety, work coordination, documentation, workmanship, and customer communication.

Full-Availability Track

This track is designed for technicians who want RPA to be their primary employment and who can maintain broad availability for assignments.

Eligible Full-Availability Track technicians receive a monthly pay floor of 173.66 production hours when they remain available in accordance with RPA's availability requirements. If earned production hours exceed the monthly floor, the additional production hours are paid in full with no production-hour cap.

Full-Availability Track technicians receive priority for available work when practical and must maintain the availability requirements associated with the track.

Partial-Availability Track

This track is designed for technicians who want to work with RPA on a reduced or more limited availability schedule.

Partial-Availability Track technicians are compensated based on the production hours earned from jobs they accept and successfully complete and are not subject to the Full-Availability Track's 173.66-hour monthly pay floor.

This can be a great fit for experienced industrial maintenance professionals who want additional field opportunities but cannot commit to RPA's Full-Availability Track.

RPA has a defined technician career path with opportunities to advance based on demonstrated ability not simply time with the company.

Initial placement is determined based on previous experience, qualifications, technical competency, and company needs. Advancement is based on factors including technical knowledge, safety performance, reliability, quality and efficiency, leadership, problem-solving, professionalism, customer feedback, communication, teamwork, training, and demonstrated readiness for the next classification.
