Electronics Security Technician Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

Lead Electronic Security Technician who will serve as the senior technical authority and primary conduit between

Project Management, IT/Network Engineering, and field technicians for all electronic security installations,service, and integrations supporting the Johns Hopkins enterprise and public safety operations

Operating at a highly technical competency, the Sr. Technician delivers advanced expertise in enterprise access control, video management systems (VMS), intrusion detection, intercom/panic alarm systems, Weapons Detection, Visitor Management, Elopement, Infant Protection, low voltage infrastructure, and network integrated security platforms. The role leads system programming and database configuration, oversees firmware/patch lifecycle management, validates compliance with retention and performance standards, and provides technical leadership and mentorship to field staff.

This position independently plans, coordinates, and commissions complex installations; conducts advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis; and ensures that all systems—including Access Control, VMS/NVRs,networked endpoints, and Emergency Communication Systems—are designed, implemented, and sustained to enterprise specifications, security standards, and project timelines.

• Ability to pass background checks as required by clients and policy. Upon Hire (Required)
• 1 Minimum 5 Years of Experience (Five plus (5+) years of progressively responsible experience in electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion, and low‑voltage/structured cabling;including at least three (3) years with enterprise‑scale system programming/integration. Prior team lead/crew lead experience is strongly preferred)
• Willingness to work off hours/on call or during planned maintenance windows as needed.
