Job OverviewAt The Arc Baltimore, our Social Workers all have a deep passion for helping children. We are actively recruiting an adept Foster Care Social Worker who will lead the delivery of therapeutic interventions to youth ages 0-21, drive clinical and case management support, consult foster parents, birth families, and work in partnership with the Department of Social Services statewide. This role is a hybrid, field role.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in child and family intake assessment and initial coordination of services upon entry into the program.
- Maintain a clinical caseload not to exceed 10 children and provide overall support and therapeutic care for these children in collaboration with their foster parents.
- Develop and collaborate quarterly treatment plans with team members.
- Conduct on-going clinical assessment of the child’s progress and needs and provide written documentation of the services needed on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate and advocate for the provision of community services, per the service plan, and provide clinical assistance to community service providers as needed.
- Plan and facilitate periodic meetings to ensure the execution of goals as outlined in the child’s service plan.
- Maintain case files and documentation for children, foster families, and biological families in accordance with state regulations and agency policies in an approved electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Maintain regular contact with the Department of Social Services (DSS) and other care providers on the child’s treatment team. Provide quarterly written updates as to the child’s progress.
- Provide consultation and support to foster parents using psycho-education approaches related to trauma informed care, mindfulness, and crisis intervention approaches.
- Provide clinical interventions consistent with cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches, training foster parents on the clinical needs of the child, and as appropriate.
- Licensed Bachelors Social Worker (LBSW) and or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW)
- Experience working in Human Services.
- Must have solid foundation of clinical skills.
- Excellent oral communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
